Traum Classics 04 - Phillipe Cam - From Lagoon West

For the first time Traum will present Philippe Cam's work digitally.
Describing the labels early years when there seemed no need to feed the dance floor with music, but the music instead was somehow making it's way to alternative dance floors, self acclaimed techno floors in industrial sites and improvised parties for insiders.
Limitations were creating classy DJ sets and Richie Hawtin played Philippe Cam's track  "LFO Drive" as his opening track at SONAR Festival in 2000.
Despite these excursions into the DJ scene Philippe remained an eccentric with little in common with the techno youth claims.
Philippe Cam became involved with music in the early '90s as a DJ in Brussels, Belgium.
After shoving off to spend some time as a sailor in Le Havre, he returned to Brussels at some point during the mid '90s to study music. While writing music for theatre, ballet productions and film, his compositions began to turn out different from these and looked for a home.
Philippe began then to  release on TRAUM.
Cam always creates rhythmic tracks without the use of beats, but uses slow modulation/filtering to create a genuine and authentic sound.
His unforgettable performance in Cologne's Artheatre at the POPKOM 2000 at the TRAUM showcase together with WMF /De:bug (Bodo Elsel, Farben, Process, Andreas Fragel, Kreidler, Mitte Karaoke) wrote history.
The tracks come here in a remastered version and include also remixes. Cam is at the current recording another album for Traum to be released in 2011.

Release date: 23 February 2011
