Debut EP of Pappenheimer & Felix Bernhardt on Traum

The German DJ and performer Pappenheimer has received several awards throughout his career. In 2013 he was named "Newcomer des Jahres 2013" (engl. newcomer of the year 2013) in the Raveline magazin. He has moved up the ladder since then and has been resident for some time now in one of Germanys most well-known clubs outside Berlin: the "Airport" in Würzburg. But it has been his recent success which put him on place 3 at the reader poll of the best DJs in Germany in music magazine FAZE. This kicked off a busy DJ schedule for him playing in Germany and neighboring countries for the first time. He is acknowledged as someone who plays the full platte of electronic dance music and releases very different music for different labels.

Pappenheimer has teamed up with 'acid techno' artists Felix Bernhardt in the past and also now for their Traum release. The 2-track release shows that their quality is one of tastemakers combining tricky sounds and effects with earthbound beats that attache these tracks to the German techno scene with a lot of knowledge.

The release kicks off with "Small Lights" a late night crawler with short eruptive digits of retarded peak sounds that act as a wake up call and brush over more heavy Detroit string sounds in the background. That does create an addictive alternating and unique rhythmic sound constellation with that organic breathing quality which is hooking and takes you with no detours directly onto the dance floor.

"Navigate Your Feelings"

"Navigate Your Feelings" is by far more warped and has that wobbly rhythm to it which causes your cortex to make adjustments that are acknowledged with a nice latency which provides you with that brain-food, good music is often made of. .

It certainly establishes that special bond with the dancer based on the insight Pappenheimer and Felix Bernhardt gained through their gigs. The track is indeed like a hooky drug and proves to be a bonanza for the release.
