The artist from Aachen who describes himself as an autodidact recognized his purpose in life at a young age and then decided to only write music and DJ. Despite his success with Sincopat and on Audiojack’s Label Gruuv he keeps a low profile but a very busy life.
Right On’s music can truly be called 100% his own invention which is quite rare these days. From the handpicked sounds to the action packed 'clash' of sequences, his music remains to keep cool in the tradition of jazz. Even though his music is complex and super rhythmical it seeks the beauty in simplicity and analogue imperfection. His trax can therefore be combined with other trax and don´t rule out a liking for a certain 'tool' quality in music.
The EP kicks off with "Folge Mir" and displays Right On’s unique approach to produce and single out every sound for its own purpose. The result is a dark and gloomy picture and very intense blend of sounds. The way it is layered has sound energy and creates a certain urgency. Not to forget the powerhouse of engine-like beats that can manage every obstacle. The break downs might be the supreme moments of the track. There is something creepy to them as if the pavement starts to show fine cracks below yourself. You cannot deny a cinematic quality inserted into a dance tracks here.
"Inteference Zone" sounds harsh maybe like a chapter of Tarkovsky’s "Stalker". Something unconscious and slightly surreal takes place underneath the groove… you will have to find out for yourself what is happening here.
