The follow up to the much played tracks "Interafrica" and "Interamerica", sees Mihalis Safras again playing heavily with percussive ethno elements especially with the a-side track "Rainforest".
"Rainforest" is a constant up and down, shaking and throwing you from one corner to the other... as if you were in a jeep on a trip through the jungle.
The beat is constant determination a strong drive and forward going rhythm occasionally taking a rest, diving into a malaria-dreamlike saxophone solo!
This is so weird and also dark, we are happy he drops back into his cool rhythm to continue the journey. This track is a true rocker, a big and fat production with a llot of picturesque moments and emotions.
Well as if that was not enough, the flipside "Here comes the rain" is a cool post Detroit techno track with a string Kevin Saunderson could not have written better.
This is a real summer and open air tune with this melody popping up that brings you happiness and sadness at the same time. Really music which you do not hear very often.
It shows the talent of Mr Safras not only to write trax but reveals his musicality, since he is a trained musician who plays a lot of instruments and has a life apart from the techno madness, playing in a live band that tours Greece once a year.
